After 21 years of business my heart is very heavy when I have to state the fact that:
The Knitting Habit is now closed!
I have decided that the small financial loss I will incur in closing now is far worth the years of knowing that I did my best. I have a small stash of yarn left that I will be able to tap into for the rest of my life!
I started this business with less than $500.00 and saw it grow to over 100,000.00 in stock…from my home to my first shop of 460 square foot space to the 1000 square foot store on Thorold Stone Road then full circle to my home! I have seen customers come and go…went through many sad passings and have made some wonderful friendships. I may close with no cash value but considering that I have had 21 years of memories and friendships that will continue to last a lifetime I feel truly blessed!
This is not the end but the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I will continue to knit, crochet and share this art through other venues like our guild, and the ladies group of charity knitters! The knitters/crocheters/artisans that worked with me in my business will continue on doing their wonderful work and I will continue to spur them on! I will continue to do private lessons only in future. Call or email to book times.
I wish to extend my deepest gratitude for these past years. I pray that you get to live out your dreams like I have. This dream of owning a yarn shop. One note of advice that I would like to extend to you. Work hard to see your dream come true! Once you do… don't stress too much when you find out… it may not be everything you thought it would be. Take time to thank God for the things you have learned and the friendships you have made! These are the precious memories that no one can take away and can be stored in our heart and mind and reflected on with friends. I can pass down these wonderful memories to my children and grandchildren! Maybe I will write a book!
I look forward to what is to come in my life. Maybe our paths will cross again!
God Bless you all!
